Origins: Uganda

Uganda lies in the heart of East Africa on the shores of Lake Victoria, straddles the equator and is the source of the Nile. Benefiting from a bi-modal rainfall season and high altitudes, the country has a pleasant climate year-round and is lush with greenery. The mountain ranges to the east and west are home to Arabica farmers; Robusta is produced on the central plateau. Nearly all of the country's coffee is produced by smallholder farmers who intercrop their coffee fields with shade trees and bananas. The government of Uganda is promoting coffee production as a key driver for rural transformation.

We started our sustainability work in 2007. Our Farmer Support teams are known for their innovations and push for continuous improvement. We are proud to work with over 10,000 Arabica farmers from whom we source our coffees.
